Dr. Dantao Su graduated with a B.A. in English and M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Beijing Foreign Studies University. She obtained her Ph.D. from the world-renowned Department of Second Language Studies of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She was the recipient of full merit-based teaching assistantship and research fellowship for her PhD study. Her PhD monograph made ground-breaking discoveries and revolutionized theories in second language acquisition for innovative applications in second language teaching and research, elevating the discipline of second language acquisition to a true science. Her research interest focuses on cognitive science, psycholinguistics and developmental linguistics. Her unrelenting spirit in truth-finding enabled her to most satisfactorily resolve the most fundamental question concerning cognition and language that has puzzled the world’s linguists, psychologists and cognitive scientists for more than a century. She has taught at prestigious universities in Beijing, China and the US with mind-boggling teaching results. With her rich, wide-ranging and in-depth knowledge and inquisitive mind, she is also one of the few specialists in the world commanding expertise in simultaneous, consecutive and sight interpretation and translation between English and Chinese in various professional fields, including business, medicine and law and many others.
